FAQ - Wine coolers
What is a wine cooler for, compared with a conventional refrigerator?
A wine cooler is designed to maintain stable conditions over time (controlled temperature, reduced vibrations, protection from light), which are better suited to storing wine than a household refrigerator, which is designed for food and different uses.
Is the stated bottle capacity accurate? Does it depend on the bottle format?
Yes, the stated capacity normally refers to standard 0.75L Bordeaux-style bottles. Wider or taller formats (Champagne, Burgundy, Magnum) may reduce the actual capacity depending on the internal layout.
Where can I install the wine cooler? Does it need space for ventilation?
Installation depends on the type of model (freestanding or built-in). In general, it is important to ensure proper ventilation to dissipate heat and to follow the installation instructions provided in the technical data sheet or the manual.
Noise and Vibration: Do They Matter for Wine?
Yes, because continuous vibrations and high noise levels can be signs of a less stable environment. For home use in a living room or kitchen, it is worth considering the noise level (dB) and ensuring correct installation on a stable surface.
Is a certain level of humidity needed to store wine properly?
An appropriate humidity level helps preserve the integrity of the cork stopper over the long term. Conditions that are too dry can cause the cork to dry out, while excessive humidity can lead to condensation and mold.
Can Light Damage Wine Even at Home?
Yes. Prolonged exposure to light, especially direct light, can alter certain characteristics of wine over time. That is why our wine coolers are designed to reduce the impact of light on the bottles.
Service and spare parts: why do they matter?
A wine cooler is a product designed to work for many years. The availability of technical support and spare parts is important to ensure continued use and to maintain performance over time.
